you know what I hate...

Always right after I place a catalog order with somebody I figure out
one more thing I should have ordered. I need a trailer light and a
folding cup holder and I found one dealer, iboats.com, that has both
for reasonable prices. But I know as soon as I complete the web order
it'll only be a couple days before I figure out I needed something
else! That happen to you guys?

Don't sweat it. It it's like the places I buy things on-line from, they'll
be sending you weekly emails about more "special" offers.

Nope. Never. At least I can't remember the last time. Maybe yesterday.
Not sure.

Oh tell me about it!

But how it usually goes with me is I call a parts house for an
important part. And being such a small item that you don't wish to pay
minimum shipping for you add some stuff you don't really need, but you
will soon, and therefore you make the shipping more justifiable.

Next day, you get your stuff, and everything is there except for the
part you were desperately needing. It's back ordered. Of course, the
sales geeks looking at the computer monitor never tell you that.

Life is so much simpler now that the only parts I order are Snake-Eye
golf balls from Golfsmith.

I just wish I didn't go through them so fast!

That happens to me chronically. I call in a fairly good order, then
hang up the phone. 15-20 minutes later, I just remembered that I
needed something else or somebody shows up needing a part that I don't
redily have but can have it the next day (refer to previous small
parts post).

So, I immediately call the supply house back just to find that my
order has already been filled and is sitting on the skid waiting for
UPS pick up.

Which is why you *always* ask for a stock check on the critical
'show-stopper' parts *before* giving the rest of the order. I've been
known to ring for the stock check then order online :-) How they usually
get my goat is to put the order on hold because some catalog flier POS
consumer tat item I've padded the order with is out of stock but
expected real soon now . . .
