Hey, Eisboch

Trying to remember, did you say at one time you had a Fender tube amp?
Or was it another brand of tube amp, or is it I'm just wrong?!

Yes, I have a re-release of the '65 Fender Twin Reverb. It's about 8 months
old. Good, old school sound, but I rarely use it. Wanna buy it cheap?

I've got a Fender Blues DeVille. great amp especially for use with a
Tele or Strat

it's early 90's and not vintage, but it sure is sweet with the
4x10's.

That's a nice amp. Probably would have been a better choice for the sound I
like. The Twin Reverb sounds good with the Blackie but I suspect yours
would be better.

Most of the time I use another, smaller Fender Stage 1000 but I unplug the
internal speaker and plug in the speakers (4) in the Mesa Boogie cabinet.
Sounds great. The Stage 1000 is solid state but has a bunch of DSP
settings, so you can tailor the sound from everything from crunchy to blues.
That's the amp I use most often.

A match masde in Heaven!

Odd, Fender guitars always seem to sound better played through Fender
amps.

hmmm

I wonder why????

Ya know, I friend and I talked about that. My instructor has an old
Fender tube amp and I'd go for my lesson, and hook it up, and the
sound was amazing compared to my Peavey.

----------------------------------

With a few exceptions, there is no comparison of a Peavey amp to a Fender in
the $1000 and under price range. Fender makes some really good guitar amps.
Peavey makes so-so guitar amps.
My opinion, of course.

If Fender was better I would have thought that Peavey could just copy
it. Few machined parts to figure out how to tool up for. I have wired
up a tube radio, when I was in the 6th grade. It ain't like trying to
copy an IC. There is always someone who is best, sometimes for less
dough, and its always known tech anyone that wants to can do well.
There are exceptions Of course there is the high end stereo amp that
has about fifty pounds of silver in the transformers. Some people are
nuts. The Russians still make all kinds of tubes, I understand.

I think you should re-read my post. I said in the $1k and under category.
Peavey makes some superb stage amps, but you aren't likely to find them in
someone's living room or garage practice area. In the price range I am
talking about I've yet to hear a Peavey that sounds as good as a Fender.
Not saying Peavey is bad, they just aren't as good. I have several. I
know.

Yes, the Russians are the primary supplier of tubes now, although you can
still get American made.
I just ordered a 13 tube set for a Hammond B3 organ. Most are Russian, but
a couple are RCA.
