OK, so my printer cartridge dies. the little HP 45.

I went to the local "china-Mart" store and was shocked at how much a
little plastic cartridge with some kind of coal dust can cost.

I don't print much. I don't have much reason to, but dang!

Somebody said in the case of their older Lexmark printer the cartridge
was higher than getting a new printer with cartridges preloaded.

amazing.

Costco refills for about $9. Some other stores also.

I wish there was one around in my locale

I think Walmart does it also.

You mean take the old cartridge in and have them refill it?

I never thought to ask about that.

The razor is cheap, but the blades will kill ya.

My color laser takes four carts, each retailing for about $90. But each
is good for about 2500 copies. I print mostly in black, so I get about a
year out of the other three carts.

My wife has a monochrome laser in her home office. About 4000 copies
from each $70 cart.

Are you using an inkjet printer? Sounds like it.

Yep, an HP Deskjet 932C

a cart will last me about a year because like I said I don't use it
that much But I went over to ebay and there's lots of places selling
them for 7-9 bucks with free shipping. One place has well over
100,000+ feedback rating, so. I'm thinking that may be the ticket for
me in the future.

Share, man. I use the HP 45 also.

Tim, here's an Amazon.com ad that looks interesting. I've never used
refilled ink cartridges or those not in an HP box, but the old HP 695
is now the second printer so I'm more willing to risk it.

But, if you do the guinea pig thing and let me know how it works out,
that's OK too!

No, they sell refilled cartridges. The damn places never seem to have
the one I want when needed though. I'm going to try Amazon.com after
you tell me of your success.

You don't have to worry too much about HP off brand carts. Seeing that the
print head is built into the cart you just throw it away if it fails.

There's a little more risk with Canon printers and those others where the
print head is not part of the ink cart. I've used off brand ink with Canon
printers for a few years now and not had a problem. Some folks have
developed premature print clogs with the off brand stuff.

Keep your eye on the ads and when you see a $69 printer, buy 10. When
the first one runs out of ink throw the whole thing away and open up the
box with the second printer.

Many budget printers are supplied with reduced capacity 'trial'/'get you
started' cartriges to preserve the price differential. Also most
cartridges have a use by date that if vastly exceeded can result in a
blocked printhead. OTOH there are plenty of people EBAYing printers
without cartridges . . .

Don, I live in BF ILLINOIS. I'm about 70 to 90 mi. of any town worth
going to.

So....

I'm pretty limited on what I can get, and where I can get it. But I'm
thinking on getting a couple refilled cartridges from Ebay and see
what happens. I mean, $8.95 USD with postage paid isn't much to lose
if they don't work.

If they do, then it still beats thepants off of ChinaMarts $37.00 a
piece

And I do, Harry. That is unless I have no other option. and in this
case, I was wanting to rack off about 25 copies of a bulletin, it was
10.00 pm, they were open, and had the cartridge.

So, they won that time.
