All secondary roads are covered with ice. Road crews are working on the
primary roads and "snow" emergency routes.

We're just going to get a little rain out of it in Atlanta. People I

Oh man! We didn't get hit with so much ice but we really got a snow!

It was really tough, because the state boys couldn't keep up with it.
travel was really hairy.

In 36hr.s approx 15-18 inch's which it hasn't snowed here this hard
in about 10 years. The city came by they're John Deere backhoe and at
least scooped out our driveway, and I got the cars out with little
trouble, but seemed like ti took about an hr. to get all the snow off
the windows and get everything defrosted so she could make it to
work.
I wet up to my shop but didn't even attempt to pull in. My sops is t
my dad's place and its in the country and located up a quarter mile
long lane. I'd estimate that it that it was a good two to three foot
drift in some places. i could have trudged my way up to the place and
spent a bunch of time trying to get my brothers JD 4020 started, then
spend all day trying to blade the lane off, but thought that would be
a lot of work for nothing. So, I'm here at home in the warm.

But while up at the folks place, I noticed something different with
the landscape. After pondering that something was different, It
finally occurred to me that the state boys and surgically removed the
mail box with a snow blade.

Oh well....

Well, the day turned out well. bright and sunny. The highway crews did
a good job on finishing up. the local construction business went
around town and did a lot of work in peopled driveways and back
streets. this afternoon most of the main roads dried up quickly. The
guy that farms dad's ground came down with his FW Assist JD with a
Rhino blade and cleared up dad's driveway really well. Now I go back
to work tomorrow. I've sat around the house all day today and it
drives me nuts to do that.

Forcast is it should be OK tomorrow, but there's a small front that
will be pulling though and it will bring the rain/snow/sleet/ice but
it shouldn't be brad. What's bothersome this time of year is to have a
snow, THEN a rain on top of the snow, then a freeze. Now we're a
slippin' and a slidin'!

In the Atlanta area we have two types of meteorologists. One type
tends to over-state every weather event in order to boost ratings, and
then there are those that just do a damned good job with the facts.
One of the later this morning was talking the possibility that Monday
night or Tuesday morning we may be in for an ice/snow event that would
be at least 70% of the one that pretty much crippled the city several
years back. Too far into the future to get a good fix on it, though.

Around here, they seem to be paid off by the advertisers to hype
everything... Like clockwork if they say we are getting 10", it will
be 2-1/2". If they say 4 it will be 1. They get the stores filled up
though and folks buy stuff they normally wouldn't buy.. Works out real
good for Walmart and Stop and Shop, Geisslers, Walgreens, etc.. People
get in wrecks, spend money they don't have, get hurt real bad, but the
TV stations don't really care, it's all bucks for them. Also of course
they get folks to tune in for a day or two before the "rain storm" to
see if we are all going to die!!!. I have a great time telling my kids
we will only get 25% of what they predict, I haven't been wrong in
years.. On the other hand it makes it nice for me. I went shopping
last night after the "big one" and nobody was in the store at all. Got
a couple of nice trout for $1.99 a pound cause they needed to sell
them. Bit 'em in the ass this time. Dad, The Mouse, and I had a great
dinner of "SeaKittens" ummmm..... Tonight Swordfish..;)
