Boat show news...
The CMTA show in Hartford has been called an unqualified success this
year by all the shows participants. Every dealer there sold at least two boats and the average price was in the 60K range. The shocker was that a bunch of Sea Rays in the $125K range were sold - something like ten or eleven Sea Rays either have deposits or were sold outright. A lot of used boats also changed hands from what I heard. The more inexpensive boats attracted a lot of attention too - my dealer sold two upend Starcraft deck boats, one pontoon, a used 17 Montauk, one of the small 17 foot bass boats (a black one of all things) and there are three people very interested in my boat. Don't know what that means, but the Hartford show was a welcome success for dealers. -- Math illiteracy affects 8 out of every 5 people. |

I'm glad you feel more optimistic about the show, Tom. last time I asked you about it, that is while you were setting up you gave me the impression that you didn't think it would turn out to be much. Kind of liek it was destined to be a flop. |
