Default When does Change kick in?

No changes here, so far. You guys continue to fight the old battles, too
interested in complaining because there are problems to find any
solutions. And I'm talking about BOTH sides. The issue doesn't seem to
matter.

If this is representative of the country as a whole, we are doomed.

He's going to lose the Jewish vote in 2012 when they find out he called
the Palestinians first.

Nah, the only thing important are the results.

It's not.
Most Americans don't even know what hemisphere Iraq is in.
Or even know what "hemisphere" means.
But most Americans aren't as nasty as those here, so it evens out.

Nah.

Partisanship has always been a prominent feature of American politics
- it's only during times of crisis when the Union is threatened by
outside forces that we come together and fight the good fight.

Here's hoping that President Obama can sieze his opportunity and make
it work.

Well, at least there's one voice of reason in this group.
Congratulations. The trouble is, the vast majority of the vocal ones
here aren't interested in solving the problems we face. They are only
interested in pushing their respective agendas, while we fall further
and further toward the abyss.

I left before because I could no longer stomach the crap. Nothing has
changed. Both sides are still shoveling as furiously as ever, with no
signs of enlightenment forthcoming. Insanity has been defined as doing
the same thing over and over and expecting different results. That
continues to happen here. I choose sanity.

Goodbye.

See ya.

However, just in case...

Yeah - it gets out of hand once in a while - it's not like I haven't
gone overboard myself from time-to-time so I guess in that sense, I'm
as guilty as anyone although it's a rare event for me.

And, just for perspective, I'm somewhat to the right of Attila-The-Hun
in terms of political beliefs.

On the plus side, this place is full of knowledgable, intelligent and
articulate participants - mostly men which is a negative - there is no
leavening via the female perspective. And when you get a bunch of men
together to discuss anything, it quickly becomes a war zone. However,
if you need advice or want to discuss boats, this can be the place to
go for it.

Come back in the Spring - things get much better then.
