Connecticut River is not frozen, at least in Connecticut. A few
patches, but nowhere near covered.



Two winters ago, some of the creeks along Chesapeake Bay "froze" or at
least had some cover ice on the top. In all the years I've lived in the
DC area, I've only seen that a couple of times.

On the other hand, some of the tributaries of the Potomac River in thie
area do freeze over fairly quickly. Don't know how thick that ice is,
though.
