I have owned a 1991 Princecraft Super Pro 196 for 7 years. During that time
we have had to replace the deck and a few rivets have popped below the waterline. It has been used in salt water and run hard. Handles rough water ok. When contacting Princecraft with questions a few years ago received little to no help so I don't bother now. FYI Steve "del cecchi" wrote in message ... "bowgus" wrote in message le.rogers.com... For what it's worth ... caught the tail end of a TV show discussing a Merc (100 hp?) that automatically reduces to 2 cyl operation below a certain rpm (1200 ?) ... dunno if that may be worth your while looking into for fishing, idling around the lake. "KRead" wrote in message news ![]() Hi all, My first post to this news group. I am looking at purchasing a new boat. I need one that is usable for fishing and usable for touring the lake, with 4-6 people. I have narrowed the search to the following two boats: 1. Lund: Prosport 1700 2. PrinceCraft superpro 176 Both boats are 2003 models, and both with a 4 stroke Merc 115HP. Any good point, bad points with the above boats? Which one is better? Any body out there with experience with both? Thanks, Ken Lund boats are highly thought of in Minnesota and maintain their value well. Princecraft are Canadian and have a much smaller market share here in this part of the country. The 115 Merc/Yamaha 4 stroke is said to be a very nice motor. The ones I've observed certainly have been. My guess is that the boats would both be satisfactory, and perhaps the choice should be determined by your location and the line carried by your preferred dealer. del cecchi |
