Sweet looking ride. Is it a gas sucking pig. My 1972 Mustang with 302
2V got about 12 MPG. I was 18 or 19 at the time.

Speaking of gas prices, now that the supply/demand basis of our economy
has driven gas prices down, the Fed now wants to raise the federal tax
on gas by 10 cents a gallon *(12-15 cents for diesel) *and is
encouraging individual states to also raise their taxes.

You can't win.

In principal, I favor raising fuel taxes if the money raised is spent on
road projects or ways to improve efficiency of cars and trucks. The
problem is, the funds raised aren't earmarked for transportation.

I spent an hour down at the boatyard this week helping a buddy haul and
winterize his boat. Another friend was there (ok...it was an excuse to
get out of the house and shoot the ****), a guy who is a much more avid
fisherman than I am. He has a 28' boat with two big outboards on it. His
boat is for sale. He can afford the gas for it whatever it costs, but
thinks it is "stupid" to be burning "so much gas" for a hobby. So, as
soon as his current boat is sold, he's downsizing to a 21-23' something
or other.

The way things are today economically, I think it smart to be very
cautious about spending liquid assets. Obama is inheriting a world of woe..- Hide quoted text -

Post a pic of your friend's boat, maybe someone here is in the buying
mood!

Have you seen what Oregon wants to do. Charge per mile driven for
vehicles registered in the state.

They wanted us to reduce burning dino-fuel, well we did. Their revenue
took a hit. Now their coffers are empty and they are in a panic.

Why is it that the state can't ever take a pay cut?

I noted this program months ago here and it was poo'pooed by the usual
trolls. It is really a progrram connected to the Insurance industry
but that's another story. As to Harrys comment, he better hang on to
his money, Obama and Pelosi are talking $1.50 tax on gas per gallon
cause "we can afford it". It's a middle class tax hike, nothing less...

Where do you GET this stuff? .... including quotes?????http://www.platts.com/Oil/News/8221129.xml

Guess I was using the Quotes out of context but I saw a news story the
other day that suggested Obama thinks we can tax gas up to another
$1.50 as we were paying almost 4 last year and did ok... Right now
Pelosi is talking the same way in Washington, so it seems reasonable
to put the two stories together... They said the money would go to fix
bridges and roads... snerk. I will be more careful with my quotes in
the future..

There you go using terminology which is not in the recipients mental
context.

Wow! Handguns as gifts... somebody knows you! Was it your wife, or her
father?
Maybe it was anonymous.

Neither. It was a friend who has moved on to other hobbies. I haven't
disposed of the handgun yet. It's got a trigger lock on it, and it is
sitting in a locked case inside my safe. It is safe. My plan is to
destroy the handgun. I suppose the local cops could make use of the
ammo, once I get off my butt and do something about it.

Candidly speaking, you are still living. Please take better care with
your aim next time.
