Sure is. Why don't you invite some of the homeless inside to warm up.
And maybe give them a bite to eat.

Harry is so paranoid he answers his door with a gun in hand.

That D700 seems to have a focus problem. Perhaps you should have it
checked.

Other than the focus, the composition and lighting are spectacular. It's
beautiful the way you organized the colors for the complimentary effects.
It almost appears that you used a color wheel to get just the right
spectrum overall.

Perhaps a little more attention to the depth of field would have helped.
Does the D700 have a depth of field preview button? Sometimes it's useful.

It's a snapshot of a couple of housepets napping and sort of napping on
their couch, Herring. That's all it is. Handheld, 1/15th of a second,
f/2.8, lens at 60mm, natural room lights. Not being an alcoholic, I can
handhold a camera at fairly low shutter speeds and get results that are
pleasing enough to the eye.

Your opinion matters naught to me.- Hide quoted text -

Actually, it's NOT very "pleasing to the eye". It's out of focus, and
the depth of field sucks.

Very nice photo, I found the obvious motion blur to be nice, it really
captured the mood of the two cats, lazy and laid back. It looked like
you caught the dark cat "making muffins" on the other cat.

They wouldn't know cold.

Uh...neither of these cats is fat and, like all of our pets, they're
rescue kitties, saved from a short, brutal life outdoors. One of them
certainly *knew* cold, but not anymore.

One of our rescue kitties died recently. We saved him in Florida. The
vet estimated he was 21 or 22 years old, and he lived a long, happy life
of leisure indoors with us.

One of the throw rugs seems to be in pretty decent focus.

Well, that was nice. I find handheld is usually quite appropriate for
pictures of pets. Getting out and setting up the tripod seems kind of a
waste. Checking your depth of field is sometimes a good thing to do,
especially when shooting at f/2.8.

I'm glad to hear you're not an alcoholic. That was nice of you to share
that information.
