simply, "****in' A Ditty".

Now, I wonder how many non vets know what a dittybag is (without the help
of Google)

Made me look it up. Heres my favorite, especially the comment about
the 30-06 and the Washington monument.

I don't remember getting charged for a dittybag, or even remember what
one looks like. Think my sewing kit was self-contained.
I just remember hearing and saying "****ing-A dittybag."
Gedunk was another term used on my ship.
Don't know if it was widespread. I can only go by my ship.
Lots of common Navy terms are missing from the site - looks like
somebody lost interest.

Nope. Second picture is close, but "silkscreened"? Hardly.

The ditty bag we were issued was smaller, and had to be hung by your rack
with care. (In hopes that liberty would soon be there).
