The Sixties! Those were the days!

Can you remember them?

1960s This is the one of the best presentations of the sixties that I
have ever seen online. It is very well done. Just click on the link and sit
back and enjoy the memories. Great photos and facts. Click below.

If you're too young to remember the 60's, sit back and learn something!

I got this from another ng. It brings back the good times. Something no
one knows since Big Business has taken not just our money but the good
times.
I got a part time job just to buy a 64 427 Galaxie. Black with black
interior. All your Chevy guys could only drool.

No problem. Anybody who appreciates a '64 Galaxie with a side oiler can't
be all bad.

The music and photos were a nice trip down memory lane, but I thought the
text messages got a bit preachy at times. For me, the video that I've
linked below hit much closer to home.

Earlier this year, Tom Hanks inducted the Dave Clark Five into the Rock 'n
Roll Hall of Fame. At first blush, it might seem odd that Hanks would be
chosen to make the induction. But Tom is a quintessential baby boomer, and
in a brilliant ten and a half minute presentation, he absolutely captures
zeitgeist of what it was like growing up as a middle-class kid in suburbia
circa 1963-1964. I've never before or since heard a more eloquent and
spot-on telling of how pop culture helped lift us from the dark days of late
1963. Even though the DC5 was the primary focus of the presentation, the
underlying theme of rock 'n roll facilitating sadness turning to joy was
really the part that hit home for me. I remember those days like yesterday.
I saw the broadcast live, and it is one of the best pieces of oratory I've
ever heard.

The video is 26 minutes long, but only the first 13 minutes are of
importance. The first three minutes are nothing more than video clips of
the DC5, but Tom takes the podium at 3:00 and lets loose. If you stay with
it for the next 10 and a half minutes, I promise you'll be rewarded. Tom
ends his induction speech at 13:30.

Enjoy

The kids now days appear to be on anestesia. Every once in a while I
feel real good and want to go to the drags. Load up the car with a bunch
of teenagers, jump out, at the light and race around, to the other seat
before it changes.
I want to stop at an old bridge in the country and strip to skivies and
jump right in.
I;m tired of being sick and tired. Ain't a gonna do it anymore.
