Maybe oughta be more careful

My recent experience where the motor on the Tolman did not start and I
had to walk her across a shallow muddy harbor filled with oyster
shells has left me with an infected foot. In the past, I figured I
had an immune system like a vultures where nothing would get me and
even sea urchin spines in my feet were nothing so I thought cut feet
from oysters were no biggie. I've walked barefoot across oyster bars
before and cut up my feet with no lasting effects. Not anymore,
OUCH. You'd think your immune system would get better with age, not
worse.

Welcome to the real world.

Me: I've got this itchy stuff here and here.

Dr: That's poison ivy.

Me: I'm not allergic to poison ivy!

Dr: You are now.

And he was right. I've caught it twice since then. Now I don't go in the
woods chasing golf balls if I'm wearing shorts.

I always wear TEVA sandals when boating. That way, if I have to jump
overboard or walk on parking lots, the bottom of my "feets" aren't
exposed to that sort of stuff.
