The Rubber Hits the Road

GM, Ford, and Chrysler are allowed to go down:
America drops from 2nd class to 3rd class industrial nation.
The Japanese, Europeans, Koreans, and Chinese rub their hands in glee.
The Republican party loses the "Reagan Democrats" forever.
The Democrat party "free trade" wing fades into disrepute.
America becomes a welfare state.
Of course the total lame-asses are already suggesting that the
automakers be allowed to fail, and the workers get bail-out money.
Some of the money for retraining of course.
As financial bankers, no doubt.
Harry asked me yesterday if I would buy an auto from a bankrupt
company.
Joe Scarborough and Pat Buchanan said today they wouldn't.
Both say these manufacturers must survive.
A Wall Street lame ass suggested the failure/worker re-education
solution.
This is going to be very interesting.
I predicted this many years ago when Americans chose to buy foreign
products. Saw my own former job disappear. The IT job I retired from
is now being done by H-1B Indian nationals. No surprise, except that
it took so long to get where we are.
Americans were taught well by Wall Street free-traders to turn on each
other and cut throats.
Shareholder Value.
Let the games begin and the blood flow.
As GM goes, so goes America.
