Fault in Navico Corus wind system
Can anyone suggest how best to locate an intermittent fault in my Navico
Corus wind system? It could be in the transducer, cabling and connectors, or the readout. When power is applied to the readout it now displays 0 knots and the needle turns vertical. Does anyone know the nature of the signals - are they pulses or varying voltages or both? If it were all working normally what should I observe with my multimeter at the 4-wire connector at the foot of the mast? I am seeing 12v between red and black and 2.6v between both green and black and white and black. When the connector is unplugged and I check the cable from the transducer, red to black shows about 0.5v which slowly drops suggesting discharge of a capacitor in the transducer unit aloft. I had similar problems last year which appeared to have resolved themselves - only to recur this year. Could it be damp? Any suggestions would be very welcome. Thanks. David |
