Great Loop internet connectivity

I'm going to be doing the Great Loop (south through the Great Lakes to
the Mississippi, down the Tenn-Tom, around Florida and up the ICW to
Canada, then back to Lake Superior) starting next August and returning a
year later. My kids will be learning online and we will need some sort
of reliable and medium fast Internet connection. What is going to be
available then that I should start watching for?

There are satellite systems available with fast internet of broadband
speeds. I'm not sure of the details but I am going to the Southampton
International Boat Show and will find out more there.

We did the trip on 03 with the kids and used the kvh tracnet system.
The system was awkward, slow, and inconsistent as well as expensive.
The kids home schooled by internet and the wife and I ran our
businesses via remote but the next time we will focus on being in wi-fi
capable locations periodically to accomplish the same for a lot less...

WiFi is definitely the way to go for coastal and inland cruising, with
some sort of cell phone connectivity as a backup. I've been working
from the boat that way all summer, up and down the east coast.
