I have a Stowe electronic wind instrument, qand it has started to stick when
the wind is just of the stern to port. Does anyone know whether this is terminal or whether it's likely to be the top of the mast unit or base unit. It works fine at all other points of sailing. When I say stick, I don't think it's actually sticking, so much as the stepper motors (or whetever is used) does not send signals to re adjust the pointer. It's a bit critical, as the other day I thought I was goosewinged nicely, when the boom went across, since in reality I was sailing by the lee. I guess I can feel it on the back of the neck, but it's nice when the gadgets work as well! John |
