new front end to DC power
Hi,
I have been reading a lot on re-wiring my boat and I have a pretty good idea about the wiring standards etc but I am having a mental block at the front end. The more I read the worse it gets. Too many options. I have a twin engine setup, each with it's own starting battery of course and I will have at least two house batteries (lead-acid). Has anyone come across any example diagrams on the different ways to do this that include all of the following; charging systems, isolaters(diode based and non-diode), switches ,alternator & regulators. Would anyone be willing to share their schematics with an explanation. Thanks |
Check out www.amplepower.com

Check with West Marine. Besides the information in their catalogs, the
stores now carry a lot of fliers on many different subjects, and there's at least one 12 volt guru in every store. They can provide a lot of information, answer most of your questions, and will probably give you a couple more things to consider before you get to work. "Steve Lortie" wrote in message ... Hello Steve,
Strongly recommend you start with a copy of Charlie Wing's "Boatowner's Illustrated Handbook of Wiring." The suggested Ample Power link is also a good source of information. Standards are only a part of the design effort. I doubt you will want to re-wire your boat using someone else's schematic, particularly if you are confused about what you are doing. If you've already done the research and are still confused, consider talking to a professional. Good luck! Chuck William G. Andersen wrote: Check with West Marine. Hi,
I would suggest you take a look at www.victronenergy.com en then go to the tech info. They have a whole bunch of wiring diagrams. Lasse "Steve Lortie" wrote in message ...
