Ample Power Alternator Question

Helping a friend with charging problem. I can feel (but not see) the back
end of his 100 A alternator and feel two large studs with heavy cables
attached. Is one +12V and the other ground or is the output being split
between the two studs and grounding thru the case??

Ample Power Alternator Question

I'm pretty sure that Ample Power uses Hehr Powerline alternators, which have
a +12vdc stud and a ground stud on the back.
