GR100 - antenna question
I won a GR100 waterproof am/fm radio in a competition which I have now
fitted in my little bowrider. However, I don't yet have a radio antenna for it. Would a piece of wire run along the side of the boat (on the inside between the carpet and the glass fibre) be as good as fitting a car rubber-duck type antenna? I simply ask because surley a car antenna is no more than a coil of wire anyway and it isn't like it's going to be grounded to a metal body or anything. The only advantage to a rubber one it that it would be vertically polarised and a *little* higher in it's mounting location? So, worth drilling a hole to fit one, or just use a trailing wire? thanks, -- Nick |
