A word of caution about Surrette/Rolls S530 batteries
Several online marine dealers are offering Surrette S530 400AH L16 size
batteries as marine batteries. At Under $200 the price is extremely attractive. I was about to bite but figured I would call Surrette and find out why the 350AH CH-375 cost $100 more. Turns out the S530 is for solar applications only and using them on a boat will void the warranty. -- Glenn Ashmore I'm building a 45' cutter in strip/composite. A word of caution about Surrette/Rolls S530 batteries
Bought 2 Surette 8Ds in 1990 - worked out all right - but prob not
worth the $$$ but I was a new oiwner then and believed all the BS - I replaced them with Trojan 6V's for $60 each - much hapeir and more contented. Besides - I can get the caps on/off much more easier. Buy new Trojan's and be happy On Tue, 27 Apr 2004 15:58:00 -0400, Glenn Ashmore wrote: Several online marine dealers are offering Surrette S530 400AH L16 size batteries as marine batteries.
