Garmin GPS Co-ordinates into Navman GPS = different location. Please help.

I had a Garmin 12 handheld GPS and have recently bought a Navman 5600
Chartplotter. When I put my Garmin co-ordinates (eg. S32-03-494,
E115-32-050)into the Navman, I am not finding the reef on my sounder,
and therefore no fish! I have tried 4 of my usual spots and each time
I am not finding reef. My Navman manual says latitude and longitude
are degrees, minutes and minutes to 3 decimal places. I do not have
the manual to my Garmin 12, but someone told me that the last 3 digits
on Garmins are not minutes to 3 decimal places, they are seconds or
something different ???

Can someone please help me convert my Garmin co-ordinates so they work
in my Navman GPS ?

You need to go into your Garmin setup section and change the deg. min. sec.
format to deg. min. decimal mins. All Garmins have a navigation setup page,
but not all have the same method of bringing it on screen, so you will have
to search around the menu.

On Garmins, and probably on the navman, that is a question of user
setup. If you can't still look at the Garmin to see how it was set,
try changing the Navman to DDD-MM-SS and see where the reefs come out.

Or just calculate the values separately and enter them as new
waypoints.

Only the seconds will be different. If you have a Lat or Lon in form
DDDMMSS divide the seconds (SS) by 60 to get DDDMM.MMM
