Has anyone heard of this Metz antenna. I understand that it is a good one. Metz antennas are end-fed half wave stainless steel whips. The coil is guaranteed for life. I have one mounted on its L bracket under the hand-hold on my '97 Sea Rayder jetboat to an Icom M-59 VHF at the helm. The antenna has been beat to death bouncing hard in the waves at 60 a lot. Works great. I lost one stainless whip when the mounting tightening nut got loose and overboard she went. It was replaced, the nut tightened down on the brass ferrule and we're back in business. You can order antennas and parts direct from Metz. Put Metz Antennas into the Google.com search engine. |

I'll second Larry's endorsement on Metz being a good antenna. And, like
Larry, I had my whip go into the drink. Got replacement and new vinyl boot direct from Metz, and made sure to honk down on the tightening nut. Len -- Eliminate "ns" for email address. |
