Digital Yacht AIT250 - reprogram MMSI ?

I have just purchased a 2nd hand AIT250 but the MMSI has already been
programmed.

Is there any way I can update/ re-apply the firmware or reset to
factory defaults so I can enter the MMSI again?

I have the proAIS software but it does not allow changing the MMSI
whereas I had software for our DSC VHF and it allowed reprogramming
the MMSI easily.

At the minute, the only way to fix this is to send the unit back to
Digital Yacht but since the AIT250 is available in the US, I'm sure
there is another way.

Many thanks for any help you can provide.

PS. I tried registering on the Panbo forum but received no email
confirmation and was unable to contact Ben Ellison

You will need to return it to Digital yacht to be reprogrammed as it
requires the input of a special code

I know for sure that all you need is the software to reprogram it, as
I have reprogrammed DSC VHFs before now - just that Digital Yacht
charge through the nose for the privilege. The people who make the
devices for Digital Yacht, SRT, make the software for each retailer.

So, your just a Dufus, that wants to bypass the OEMs system of revenue
sourcing for their resellers, and "do it on the cheap", but your to
stupid to reverse engineer the code required. So you come whining to
the Marine Electronics crowd, about how it is all so unfair, that
you have to pay the price for reprogramming. Life is tough, and then you
die, Sonny..... Why don't you invest a few hundred thousand, and start
your own Marine Electronics Outfit, and then become a Dealer for SRT,
and they will just GIVE you the software, and you, then can charge other
folks to reprogram their MMSI's, for money, like the rest of the Dealers
do..... Oh that's right, your to lazy, and couldn't make a go of a Paper
Route, or Lemonade Stand....
