Clever heading ref from Taiyo, uses GPS and ADF

This uses a GPS to get ship postion and uses a LF ADF to get a fast response bearing line on a shore beacon. Wonder how well it works in real practice??? Touted as a coastal alternative to a gyro. |

I think it would be unusable here on the BC coast - there are few marine radiobeacons, and lots of islands to interfere with the signal propagation. -- Peter Bennett, VE7CEI new newsgroup users info : http://vancouver-webpages.com/nnq GPS and NMEA info: http://vancouver-webpages.com/peter Vancouver Power Squadron: http://vancouver.powersquadron.ca |
