Replacing kinescope in Furuno FCV-601 echosounder

Hello

I have Furuno FCV-601 echosounder with 6" colour display. Unfortunately,
this display is very dark (service guy says it's "burned"), and new one from
Furuno dealer costs about 650$ (i can buy new echosounder for that). So, i
was thinking about replacing this kinescope with something else like
standard TV kinescope, or connecting echosounder to standard TV/monitor.
What you think about this? Is this possible?
And maybe someone has some experience in this and can write something
usefull...

And at last, if someone have technical/service manual for this
echosounder and can scan&send it to me it would be great.

ps. sorry for my english...

Replacing kinescope in Furuno FCV-601 echosounder

hello

furuno are doing an echosounder that can be connected to a computer
monitor, so a normal crt monitor or a tft, never seen one connected to a
tv but there may be something available.
FCV1100/1200, with this you should, asuming the transducer is ok, keep
the exsisting transducer, you`d have to know the freq of the fcv601 so
you could get the 1100/1200 to match

regards
