trolling motor problem

I'm having trouble with my Motor Guide trolling motor. when set on 12 volt
everything works fine. when set to 24 volt nothing happens. with a volt
meter I test 12 volts on one pole of the plug and 24 on the other. I have
replaced the switch that selects 12 or 24 volts. any suggestions?
thanks -K-

Trouble shoot with your voltmeter,( with the switch in the 24v position).
You should be able to find where the drop is occurring. Start at either end,
perhaps at the battery and follow it through leaving the one probe on the
Neg terminal and find where the high resistance is. Since it works on 12v
there has to be some fault in the 24v setting. It sounds like something in
the control box to me.
