Echoes on an Eagle Fisheasy 2....HELP!
 

Finally got out to try my new finder and found I didn't seem to get
any good echoes on manual mode. I have the portable and used it on a
12 foot aluminum. The transducer seemed to be 90 degrees to the boat
and and I placed it as far down on the hull as I could before hitting
ridges with the suction cup. Basically I started out in 30 feet of
water and it actually seemed to be ok, not great arches, but obvious
fish (confirmed when toggled to fish track mode). Once I got out into
the deeps (150-200 feet), I would only seem to get dots that ran in
vertical streaks up the screen (and I played tons with sensitivity and
used the zoom to close in on the bottom).

Any thoughts as to why I'm having the problems? I realized after that
I shouldn't have mounted on the port side of center, but I don't
believe the problems I had would have been caused by the prop. wash.

I want those nice boomerang images like the pictures dangit!
