Gerr Downhaul
In another post, couple days ago, we got off topic in a brief discussion
about the Gerr Downhaul for a hanked on head sail or staysail. While on the boat today I found the reference and illustration in Richard Hendersons Singlehanded Sailing (2nd ed) pp 132. However, I also have a copy of the 1st ed and couldn't find any reference to it there. (or at least there weren't any illustrations, as I quickly thumb through it.) I have scanned that illustration and text and now have it at: http://hood.hctc.com/~esteve/private...errDwnHaul.pdf Steve s/v Good Intentions |

Perfect illustration and it's pretty well what I thought was being described. However, I also have a copy of the 1st ed and couldn't find any reference to it there.
