Default canvas work and repair

I ve a canvas biz in San Francisco, but I am thinking that I would prefer to
struggle for my daily in the tropics. Has anyone cruised the US virgin islands
and found their sail repair and canvas needs wanting in that region. I also
have a bad sailing jones, and I am tired of cold and foggy summer days on SF
bay and would prefer wrmer climes.

There are/is good sail and canvas repair in USVI. I know of a good German
sail maker in St Thomas.

You would have the same competative envornment there as in SF. But then the
weather is nicer and if your cruising you could work a little and cruise a
little..

You had best check up on the visa restrictions before you try to make money
in a foreign country. A lot of destinations are not that friendly to
cruisers in the first place, and if you start competing with local
businesses you may find yourself in a lot of trouble.

I wouldn't consider the US Virgin Is a foreign country.. It may be a self
governing territory, like Guam or PR. I'm just not sure. But there shouldn't
be any more restriction than in those territories.
