Ahoy fair sea-maidens!

SWM 45 (5'10" 165#) in Northern California entering early (semi-)retirement
to take up ocean cruising. Come learn with me while we plan our adventure
to the South Pacific and beyond. I have the financial means to do this.
Please be 35+ (or not), adventurous, with intellectual/academic interests,
good health, and not a little grit. Prior sailing experience not necessary,
just determination.

I love these. I wonder if they work. They never lead to an "online"
response, but what could happen that we dont' see?

It reminds me of the old joke about the classified ad, "Man looking for good
woman who likes fishing, with boat. Please send picture of boat."

I also think one should mention something about close quarters maneuvering
skills, but perhaps I'm over-focussing.

serious discussions on other boards seem to indicate NO!! is the most correct
answer for men or women, but some people some times report it worked once for
them.

There is/was a report of a married woman on the West Coast who established
several, often simultaneous, relationships with men who went to sea via the
internet.

I met a couple of guys in the Gulf Islands that had aquired some "crew" in this
manner. Apparently giggly girls get on one's nerves in close quarters after a
few days: These guys were obviously sick of their company. All Men are Pigs, and
we seem to make choices based on breast size, but there's something to be said
for having some assets north of the breast-line ;)

In the long run, there's nothing sexier than an intelligent, talented, and
independent woman. (IMO)

For the short run, however, who cares about brains when rolling in the hay?
:-)

Arrrgh. Spoken like a true man of the sea. And if you can't be with
the woman you love, love the woman you're with.

because women of unusual intelligence are only maybe 20 or 30 in a 1,000, and
women of beauty are only maybe 50 in a 1,000. The first 20 or 30 don't
necessarily map one to one with the second 50.

The most beautiful woman I have ever met -- bar none -- was also unusually
intelligent. She also preferred woman 20 years older than she.

And of course when you're above 48 north......."they are all 10s up here."
