What to use on walls of head??

Anyone have any idea on material to apply over plywood bulkheads on
forward head of Morgan OI 41?? I have thought of the following:
stainless sheeting (what gauge? 18?); formica, vinyl wallpaper. Had
wallpaper on before but it was always peeling and attracting mildew. I
had also thought of some type of acrylic sheeting but have no idea of
what is available. Would also appreciate source of material you might
recommend. Thanks. Joe

Well, I would ensure the plywood itself is completely watertight.

Once that's confirmed, you might consider the type of material used in
tub surrounds, where they retrofit over tiles to create a seamless
surface. I LIKE the idea of stainless, or even aluminum
sheeting...hey, copper sheating as used for roofs would be cool, if
you like the eventually greeny tinge...

Me, I like metal or something without a break, like precision-cut
vinyl. Sealing the wood behind is paramount, IMO.

Don't use stainless. Urine will corrode it in short order. Just take a look
at where they've used that in restrooms. ug. Stick with something
non-metallic like laminate, FG or similar.

I used vertical grade high pressure laminate (Formica and the like). It
is thinner than regular weight laminate and will bend into about a 2"
radius but you have to build up a big fillet behind it for support.

You need to use the highly flamable contact cement though. THe water
based stuff just does not have enough grip. I put mine on before the
deck went on. I would hate to do it in a closed up head without a
remote source resperator.

Somebody asks:

snip

Apply a layer of 17 oz glass with epoxy to seal the plywood.

Shoot glass with high build primer followed by L/P.

After that, strictly a sponge and water to clean.

BTW, the above is how I'm finishing my head including a full size, stand up,
dedicated shower.
