Default Westerly bilge blower vent.

Installing bilge blower on Westerly Tiger.

What is best place to place the 3 inch vent?

Would like to avoid cockpit area and that best would be through the
lazarette and then out, high up, through the transom?

But before we cut a 3 inch diam. hole in the stern of the boat!

Any advice comment appreciated. Thanks.

If you put it in the transom, even high up, you will surely get water coming
in from following seas, or even big power boat washes while you are moored.

Default Westerly bilge blower vent.

Had a Centaur for many years and the Tiger has similar high coamings.
I'd find a way to run a duct up there and put the opening on the
outside, Use a clamshell cover, open side down, to keep spray out.

Looked at the brochure justt now and see a layout diagram with 2 Q
berths, but no picture of them. But guessing they are similar to the
Centaur, you probably could run a duct in the aft of the Qberth. Cut a
hole to the lazarette, screw in a collar to attach the duct, run up in
the coaming to the the exhaust hole. Clamshells come in white plastic
and chrome.

Re the similarity between Tiger and Centaur?
Hoping when I get back to it that bilge blower hose can go through the
bilge to the lazarette; up through that and then to some kind of vent
(probably clamshell).
An alternative may be to have the hose loose in the lazarette and just
drape it outside; whenever we run the blower!
But having gone to the trouble of changing the manual bilge pump to a
transom through fitting seesm like a nuisance.
Might also reduce the hose to say a two incher, on the output side and
have the 3 inch. in-hose blower mounted in the bilge without any input
hose/s.
Many thanks for the comments posted.
