Default Summer Cruising

If you've read some of my previous posts, you may know that I've been
trying to find an economical trailerable displacement hull cruiser to do
mainly river and canal cruising. I used an old Venture 25 last summer and
it worked fine but it was just too cramped. We are going to sail Lake
Champlain with the Venture for a few weeks early next summer and then run
some rivers and lakes in August. Maybe some combination of the Tom Bigby
and TennTom (sp) We're still cussin' and discussin' this one. Any insight
or literature suggestions appreciated.
BTW,
I stumbled over this site a few days ago and it's worth a look if you are
looking for a used boat. It lists a huge number of boats. Unfortunately,
I'm trying to find a Nimble to look over and haven't found one yet.

If you can find a Westerly Pageant don't pass it up. These 23
foot-70"s-era- bilge -keel boats are amazing for their size. Many have
crossed oceans. We have a friend with one and he loves it. More room
than you can imagine including standing head room. The Pageant is a
baby sister to the more well known 26' Westerly Centaur. If you do a
search on Yacht world or on Soundings website you might just find one.
They usually can be had for around 5 grand depending on condition.
Some even have inboard diesels.

Good luck!
