No....teak is not 'nasty' at all, actually relatively benign compared to
other wood dusts such as western red cedar.
The best thing about teak dust is that it is heavy and settles quickly.
Obviously, you should use common sense when sanding.

The wood to be the most concerned about is the Pacific Yew.
