Don't believe the National Weather Service any more.

This year there have only been two hurricanes. But there have been seven
named storms.

The most recent, so-called tropical storm Gabrielle, is a joke. The say
it made landfall on the outer banks but one can see what's left of it
getting smaller and smaller and still dying there off the coast of South
Carolina. It's pathetic. Check it out on the satellite loops. They
claimed 45mph winds but nobody saw more than thirty mph gusts there on
the beach. Most of the day and during the so-called landfall the sun was
shining on the outer banks.

The other so-called tropical storms were also a joke. Small, weak,
over-hyped and short-lived. They only named them so their over inflated
predictions don't look so shamefully absurd. The bottom line is the
National Weather Service is perpetrating fraud. Their only mission is to
frighten and misinform people to increase their own power over our
lives.

I even doubt the strength of the two named hurricanes. Category fives,
my ass! Where are the deaths from Dean? I've not heard of a single death
from that huge powerful, killer storm. No sir. It makes landfall in an
area populated with poor Indians who don't even have radios and who live
in the jungle and not a one gets killed? That tells me Dean was no
category five storm at landfall.

Quite frankly I'm sick and tired of all the 'sky is falling' hype
centered around just about every government program. I hope the majority
of people upon whose ears it falls just let it go in one ear and out the
other.

See "August 22, Ripping Good Sail..." thread, where they complain

I agree the weather has not been cooperating with the
liberal's science-fraud theories about global warming.

Sadly there were a few people killed by Hurricane Dean.
The estimate were that more than 26 were killed. This
places it as a weak Hurricane in my estimation.

http://sciencemode.com/2007/08/25/hu...xico-hard-hit/

Hurricane Felix hit Nicaragua Miskito Indians quite hard.
Total estimated between 49 and 100 dead. No exact count
was made because the people are mistrustful of the
governments of Honduras and Nicaragua. They too
put the blame on the central government.

Ah the new Hurricane Strength Scale, Bart0, Bart1,....Bart5.

Hurricane Flora (1963) comes in as Bart5 (7000 or so deaths), dumb
National Weather Service only gave it a 3!

Perhaps I should have chosen my words more carefully
Marty. Dean did not strike a highly populated area.

What is significant is the number of hurricanes, for the
second year in a row was far less, and caused less
damage, [and fewer deaths] than predicted.

It seemed so when the thread started, but we *are* just into prime-time
for 'canes, and I believe this is the first year that two category 5s
hit land, at least so close together.

I can't figure out why some seem so worked up about the NOAA
predictions not "tracking true" early in the season.

If "your" crystal ball is better than theirs, I wanna go to the casino
with you.
