heavy duty kayak rack on 18 foot bayliner Capri

Hello.

I'd like to install a heavy duty (roof) rack on a my bayliner capri
18footer. The rack would have to be long enough and sturdy enough
(thinking 1" thick pipes) to allow me to carry an 70 lbs 12 foot long
kayak. Is this possible? Who would make/install such a beast?

Thanks again!

I made racks for my pickup truck out of 1" conduit from Home Depot. Just
shape with a conduit bender. I fit them into the stake pockets, in a boat
you'd want to fasten, maybe with U-bolts. Or u-bolt in sleeves of 1-1/4"
pipe to make the rack removable. There are lots of fittings, adapters,
etc available for conduit assemblies.
