MAN WHAT A STORM!
It chased me home at 60 mph on my Honda scooter! Rolling through Eastern
SC like a freight train and just came up over the horizon in no time! There's been two tornadoes, so far, one near Northwoods Mall in N Charleston. Here's the radar: http://radar.weather.gov/ridge/radar...t=N0R&loop=yes Be glad you're not offshore of South Carolina tonight. It's gonna get rough out there trapping anyone out there in an hour..... Wind across the river banging on my door is around 50 knots, gusting higher at the moment. Raining like hell, amazing thunder and lightning....even Tampa would be proud! Larry Try living in southern Illinois. Got chased off the late 4th of July by a massive electrical storm. Heavy rain. Lightening stuck something in the marina. Didn't hang around long enough to find out what, but it wasn't a boat. Have had repeats several times since then including a couple of cells that passed through last night. Hey, its July. Its the midwest. Could be worse. Could be Oklahoma. |

Hey Larry, Pardon the threadjack for a moment please. After reading the archives for a few weeks, it's become apparent to me that you are the worlds expert on Sea Rayders with the 175 sportjet. I'm looking at buying one and have a few quick questions if you don't mind. I've got AIM, e- mail, telephone - whatever works for you. ------------------ Brad |

@newsfe12.lga: Hey, its July. Its the midwest. Could be worse. Could be Oklahoma. We have those monstrous hurricanes, but our "tornadoes" are kind of puny by midwest standards. We have those little "rope tornadoes"....very intense, but in a tiny path. They'll destroy one house, jump over 2 and tear up the garage on the 4th...no touching a shingle on those two in the middle....not those 1/2 mile Oklahoma monsters that clear out 3 neighborhoods. Larry -- Hugo survivor - Sept 1989. Stood in the eye looking up at the stars and described it to a friend in Ohio on my cellphone....from the center of Hugo, Cat 5 hurricane. |
