Default forward-looking sonar, i.e. horizontal ?

Is there such a commercial product or does anyone know of a custom
implementation that is documented ?

Thanks.

West Marine carried two different models of forward looking sonar. One is on
my wishlist. I can't recall the name off hand but look in their catalog in
the "depth sounder/radar" section or search their website. Was about $1000
if I recall correctly.

I guess you could try a 600 ft depth sounder with forward facing
transducer on a bow bulge - but I am pretty sure it wouldn't 'see'
out as far as 600 feet in that mode....

Believe Interphase makes them. May be others by now.
