Kirie 41Di Lift-keel
Because I sail in the Chesapeake, ultra shallow draft appeals to me (I
like to park in the corners!). I'm considering the purchase of a Kirie 41 lifting keel (really a heavily ballasted centerboard boat), but I'm having trouble finding information on their stability rating, and how they sail up wind (even a gentleman is occasionally forced into this activity). Any thoughts or links to specific information? Thanks, Kit |

Any thoughts or links to specific information? Thanks, Kit My wife sailed on a Kirie a couple of years back and she reported some unpleasant pounding in chop. I sail in an area of high tidal range and many marinas are dry at low tide. I was thinking about the merits of a catamaran or the centerboarders made by Alubat: http://www.alubat.com/deriveur%20int...0gammeovni.php Hope this helps |
