hi, i'm 24 sailor. used to sail on different yachts (cadet, ILC25,
24footer, laser). i'd like to ask for some suggestion. where should i
go or whom sholud i ask if i wolud like to start racing in usa? now i
live in NYC. maybe there is someone who needs crew? very thank u for
help.

Go to the nearby yacht harbors and take note of the race schedule(s) on
the bulletin boards and show up a few hours before at that location.
The "beercan" series are often on Wednesday or some other mid-week day.
I found them to be the easiest to break into.

EVERY fleet can use extra crew. If you're good, you'll soon be in demand.

That's how I learned to sail and race. Laser sailors and racers are
particularly valuable, in my experience.
