I use to set the old Loran for anchor watch.
Now with the new GPS Chart Plotter installed in the cockpit I will not be
able to hear the anchor alarm from inside.
I wonder what would be the best way to solve this problem without having a
repeater inside the boat.

I have a second cable that plugs into 12 V outlets in the cabin so I just
bring the GPS below.

However, I sleep right through its alarm. It just isn't loud enough. The
funny thing is, I wake up for things like the motion of the boat changing
when the tide turns. I just haven't been able to train my mind to put that
little electronic beep on the list of things to keep track of while I'm
sleeping.

"barp, barp" etc. I find that I am instantly awake from a deep sleep
and on my feet, knowing exactly what the alarm means.

Before, I would sleep lightly unless in a quiet anchorage, fearful
that I wouldn't hear the cockpit GPS alarm.
