Leaving the Chesapeake Bay for the first time
Hi,
I've been sailing on the Chesapeake Bay for over 20 years now, mostly weekends and a week here or there. All I know of the water I learned from this bay. Now I'm getting ready to take my boat south for the next six months, Florida I suppose. I have no real plan other than to be some place warm with some nice places to anchor. My inclination is to make for the keys for no other reason than it's as far south as I can go and still be near land. My question is, well, how are the keys? How's the bottom? Good anchoring? Good sailing? A nice place to be? I'm serious. I really don't know. All comments and suggestions are very welcome. -Rick |
