Every Jet Ski should have one !
(Sorry I don't have a picture)
I saw a large Jet Ski on a trialer. It was coupled/docked into a deck boat.. What a great idea.. This configuration may be common, but this was the first time I had seen one. I gather, from what I could see, that the jet ski provides the power and steering for the deck boat, being locked in on 3 sides. (I'm not a great fan of jet ski and think most operators are either underage and don't realize the havack the create in a quiet anchorage or they are adults who know better but revert to a juvenile mentality when the stradle one.) Maybe this is a more sane useage for the jet ski. Hmmm! I wonder how this configuration would holdup after a couple regular jet ski'ers buzz them a few times. -- Steve s/v Good Intentions |

I'm definately no fan of the bloody things either.........the authorities feel the same way having totally banned the horrible things on Sydney Harbour. For once the government has done something right!!! Unfortunately, living on a boat is also banned but unlike jet skis, they turn a blind eye to this........many people live on boats here :-) Darren S/V Augustan Sydney Harbour, Australia Maybe this is a more sane useage for the jet ski. Looks like they have gotten ideas from tugs/barges.

Yep! That's what it reminded me of.
The jet ski was docked in a 'U' shaped notch in the aft end of the deck boat. Not sure how manouverable that will be with the just the jet nozzle. I think a good place to test all jet ski and operators would be just above the Niagara Falls. Come to think of it. Has anyone ever tried going over the falls in a jet ski.. Hint Hint. They also had the deck boats with two jet skis tucked up in the back. Leanne |

In article , Steve says...

FYI - Bombadier and others make a Jet boat, based on the same jets. They range in size up to 20', and often had two of the old Rotax, or one newer bigger engine. Actually jet boats have been around longer than jet skis, I remember one back in the 70s, talking to the owner as he was locking through at Bobcageon. sdg |

Yah! I have seen a couple of those "jet boat" running full bore and I
thought they had lost there prop.. A horrible amount of engine rpm/exhaust bubbles and foam-- little speed. Keep those jet pumps in the hot tub.. Not at all efficient a a "Boat" propulsion. -- My opinion and experience. FWIW Steve s/v Good Intentions |

In fact, it has been done: see
