Whale Watching at Los Angeles - Info wanted

Good morning,

does anyone have info on, or can point me to a resource on whale
migration in the LA basin?
I would like to know where and when to go for a good chance of whale
sightings.

Thanks a lot!

Chris

The gray whales work fairly close inshore, and you'd have good chances of
sightings from any of the points - Point Fermin, Pacific Palisades, Point
Dume, Point Mugu, etc.

Whale-watching tours go out from just about everywhere - LA Harbor, Marina
del Rey, Channel Islands Marina up at Oxnard. Out of Oxnard is good because
the whales all mostly pass inshore of the Channel Islands and the channel
between Oxnard and the southern Channel Islands is only about sixteen miles
wide at the narrowest.

If you want to see blue whales, they hang out North and seaward of the
northern Channel Islands at certain times of the year, but you'd definitely
have to go out in a boat to see them.

Thanks for the reply, the pionts sure are
good bets, although I was thinking about sailing.

I found the answer to when to go, in case anyone is interested:
