End of the Norfolk & Suffolk Broads?

Ladies and Gentlemen,

A unique gem of Britain - the Norfolk & Suffolk Broads - is being lost
under the inept control of a Government Quango.

A formal and official complaint has been lodged with the quango, only
to receive a final response formulated from "spin". Should the
complainant decide to progress further, the complaint will advance to
the Local Government Ombudsman and possibly the Audit Commission.

Your help is sought in showing the strength of feeling for the wildlife
and the environment, together with the continuance of access by
traditional Broads boat so that many may witness the delights of the
region.

We ask that you visit www.Broads-NAV.COM and if you are so moved,
please add your name to the petition linked from the site.

Please, please help to rescue The Broads from the hands of misguided
beaurocracy!

Thank you.

Not so Cap'n!

The Broads are stuffed with boats of all kinds, from Norfolk Wherries to
skiffs. It spreads from The Wash to the north and spreads all along the
Norfolk and Suffolk coastlines, going inland for many miles. It's a huge
wildlife preserve too, and has a very old commercial history. All the
thatch you see on 'olde worlde' houses comes from Norfolk Broads...

If you write to Tony Blair, advising him of the situation, he will put Tessa
Jowell in charge of the remedial action, and all will be well. (a
Supercasino in the middle of the Broads will do much to generate the massive
income required to finance such a sheme).

Dennis.

I am only familiar with the Broads through Arthur Ransome's remarkable
"Swallows and Amazons" series. "Coot Club" and "The Big Six" are set in
these waters; it must have been remarkable in the 1930's, and it sounds as
though the area is essentially unchanged!

If anyplace on earth is relevant to boating...
