Default Buying advise: 1989 Four Winns Vista 315

Hello all, I was shopping for a trailerable cruiser when I came across what
seems like a pretty good deal. It's a 1989 Four Winns Vista 315. Twin OMC
5.7s cobra outdrives 700 hours. In pretty decent shape. Assuming that it
passes a survey and mechanical check I think I can pick it up for about
$15k. Obviously I would not trailer this one but it would live in the
marina about 15 min. from my house. Am I missing something here... it is as
good a deal as it sounds? Checking internet listings most in that age are
listed at almost double the price.... not that they are getting it, but at
least they are asking. Any advise appreciated. Please post here as my real
e-mail is not listed due to spam.

Thanks.

Whatever you do be sure to make your offer subject to a SEATRIAL and SURVEY.
Be sure the surveyor is qualified and checks for moisture in the hull and
transom and for rot in the stringers and any other structural wood. You can
get a list of qualified surveyors from your insurance company. the
investment in a survey is well worth it; it can save you thousands of
dollars and a great deal of grief. Also, your insurance company will
probably want a survey in order to give your coverage.

Thank you. I absolutely would not purchase without a survey and seatrial.
Anything else to look for? I am not terribly familiar with Four Winns as
they are not too popular around this area. Can anyone touch on any
experience with the larger twin engine Four Winns like this Vista 315?

Thanks again. -Dano (Minneapolis)
