Someone has posted the entire Svenson's collection of homebuilt boat plans
from the 1940's/50's/60's over on alt.binaries.e-book.technical newsgroup. Most are jpeg pictures you can easily print, with detailed plans of some really neat little wooden boats....(c; Look for Svenson's in a .rar file set with good par files for easy error correction. All the files fit on one CD-R, and are around 680MB. What a great nostalgia tour of the boats Americans were building for $20 up back when a good job paid $1.80/hr. and people had all the time in the world to glue plywood in their garages. Dingies, fast little water cycles, paddle boats, cabin cruisers, sailboats, even sailboat cruisers, racing boats (power and sail). Jetskis aren't new, there's plans over there for about 12 of them powered with 10-35hp outboards. They didn't have any money, but they sure knew how to make FUN! -- There's amazing intelligence in the Universe. You can tell because none of them ever called Earth. |
