Profurl P40 Extrusions
Folks,
I have a Profurl P40 with a broken extrusion. Actually the unit has been up since the early 80's and I can't seem to get it apart. Does anyone know where I can get replacement extrusions? Or if the extrusions for other Profurl models will work as a substitute? Many thanks, Howard |

Isn't there a small screw that locks them together?
I have some extrusions from a Profurl, don't know the # offhand, it was taken off a 1986 , 30' boat. I can look this w/e. Scotty,
Yes, small set screws, but they were jammed tight after 20+ years of service. To make matters worse the boat is in Nova Scotia and I'm Philadelphia. The wife says I can have a mistress if I keep her far away and don't talk about her. So I go up for a month in the summer and take a trip. I did not have time to fiddle around with the furling they way I would have liked to and, in desperation, ended up buying a new Harken system. Next year I'll make another go at getting the damn thing apart, if I can't find extrusions. Of course, now that I have the new Harken, why do I need an old ProFurl? It just seems wasteful to throw away a good unit. Howard Scotty wrote: Isn't there a small screw that locks them together? Naw, I'm a skin-flint - NYC - Northern Yacht Club in North Sydney. The club burned down and they rebuilt it. Now they are working on the docks. Got their priorities straight! Great group of guys. |

Unfortunately I'm done for the season. Vacation gone. Good luck and enjoy. |
