Best place to buy a used sailboat in Asia?

Hello. I'd like to hear some opinions about where the best place to buy
a used sailboat in Asia might be. I'm looking for something I could
cruise around in and live aboard with a couple other people e.g. 30-40
ft, something brand name with a good reputation. Considerations include
available selection, prices, local laws & taxes, etc. Hong Kong?
Singapore? Dubai? Malaysia? Thailand? Sydney? Any specific advice is
also appreciated. Thanks!

Penang, or so I have been told by people who have lived there. Seems a
lot of voyagers run out of steam, money, ambition, wife, girl friend,
whatever, at about that point and put the boat up for sale as they fly
home.

I have a Amel Maramu for sale, but it's located in Turkey. It's a 1983
model that I completely refurbished during the last 2 years.

Oh gee! We are going to Turkey June 7. Where is your boat?
